Turning complexity into coordinated action.
I am Brandy Maki — engineer, strategic problem-solver, and execution-driven leader who thrives where complexity, urgency, and meaningful improvement intersect. Across my career, I have consistently been drawn to roles that demand technical excellence, deep problem-solving, operational leadership, and exceptional service—because I genuinely care about doing excellent work and creating better outcomes for the people, systems, and organizations I support.
My professional path has spanned product development engineering, industrial operations, process controls, technical systems, workforce development, project leadership, and strategic coordination. While the industries and roles have varied, my purpose has remained remarkably consistent: I excel at making things work better.
Early in my engineering career, I designed and developed automated test systems for automotive electronic control units, engineered electronics validation processes, reverse-engineered specifications, and led cross-functional product development efforts supporting multiple product lines. I became the trusted go-to technical resource for troubleshooting manufacturing cell issues, product failures, and production challenges—serving as the primary point person responsible for diagnosing root causes, supporting operators and technicians, and driving continuous improvements across manufacturing environments. I have always believed that the people closest to the work often hold the most valuable insight, which is why I prioritize listening to operators, technicians, and frontline teams. Their trust has been one of my greatest assets, and by combining their practical knowledge with engineering analysis, I have repeatedly helped implement meaningful improvements that strengthen products, processes, and performance.
I thrive when I am busy, challenged, and managing multiple priorities at once. Fast-paced environments bring out my best work. I learn quickly, adapt rapidly, and enjoy digging deeply into difficult process and product issues to uncover true root causes using Lean Six Sigma methodologies including DMAIC, Kaizen, 5S, Genchi Genbutsu, FMEA, and DVP&R. Whether analyzing quality issues, improving manufacturing systems, troubleshooting controls, supporting maintenance strategy, or building business cases for new initiatives, I am energized by solving difficult problems thoroughly and effectively.
Throughout my career, I have led and supported multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously—balancing technical execution, stakeholder communication, budgeting, documentation, strategic planning, and implementation. My experience includes engineering test systems, managing change initiatives, developing technical documentation, preparing quotes and business cases, maintaining infrastructure and instrumentation systems, supporting quality and preventative maintenance programs, and collaborating daily with operators, technicians, engineers, management, suppliers, and stakeholders across local and international teams.
Beyond technical environments, I have also played significant roles in workforce and organizational development—helping design and support innovative co-op-based engineering education systems, facilitating technical and professional growth, leading industry partnership initiatives, coordinating large stakeholder networks, and building strategic bridges between education, industry, and workforce opportunity. I am passionate about helping individuals and organizations grow, not simply through instruction, but through thoughtful support, strategic systems, and practical development.
At the center of all of my work is a deep respect for people and a commitment to service. I believe exceptional customer service and exceptional technical performance are inseparable. Whether supporting a production floor, mentoring a student, coordinating a project team, troubleshooting a failing system, or improving operational strategy, I believe the highest standard is achieved through listening well, acting with integrity, communicating clearly, and relentlessly pursuing excellence.
I do not shy away from complexity—I move toward it.
My mission is simple:
To deliver excellent work, solve meaningful problems, support people well, and create systems, products, and organizations that function better because I was part of them.
I am at my best when I can combine:
Technical depth
Strategic thinking
Operational improvement
Human connection
Continuous learning
Relentless execution
